Morality and values

We all have our own thoughts about morality and ethics. We have opinions what is wright and what is wrong. Our values are constantly evolving, they are affected by life experience, social relations and wiew of the world.  Values gives directions to our lives and guides behavior. Sometimes in life we have situations that we cannot act according to our values, that kind of situations must also be accepted.

Ethics in social work

Professional ethics could be a little different than your own personal ethics and values. It is challenging to act in the best interests of the client, if it is different from your perspective of morality and ethics. But we have to remember that we all are the captains in our own life. And we as professionals let the client decide what is best for themselves. We have to think basics ethical concepts in our job all the time: justice, veracity, beneficence and autonomy. We are the voices of them, who otherwise cannot be heard. So we must understand the meaning of holistic concept of human being.
